Fiscal sponsorship is a helpful arrangement that can benefit artists, filmmakers, individuals, social enterprises, and nonprofit organizations.  

Here's how it works: Let's say you have a great project or idea, but you lack the legal status needed to receive grants or other charitable contributions from individuals, foundations, donors, or government agencies. That's where The Funding Studio, functioning as the studio fund, comes in. The Funding Studio, which already has the necessary legal status (501(c)(3)), steps in as the fiscal sponsor. For a fee, we provide administrative services and oversight, taking on limited legal and financial responsibility for the activities of your project or business.  

By partnering with a fiscal sponsor like us, you can access charitable funding for your venture without the hassle of creating and managing a nonprofit organization yourself. This is especially beneficial for independent filmmakers, artists, or socially minded LLCs who don't need to set up a nonprofit just for one project. Fiscal Sponsorship applications are accepted on a rolling basis, without a specific deadline to apply. To submit your application, you must have an active fundraising subscription through the studio fund.

All potential sponsees must have an active subscription to our studio fund to submit an application for review. We will contact you with questions regarding your submission if necessary. Your project must fit within the confines of our mission to support independent artists and social innovators. Please note that subscription and/or application fees for the studio fund are not refundable under any circumstance.

Support or promote anti-science causes, hate, discrimination, or exclusion undermines efforts for ethical studio fund initiatives. Additionally, violating human rights or undermining reproductive or gender equity can endanger public health or wellbeing. It is crucial to avoid encouraging or glorifying violence, as well as supporting ecological harm or climate denial, all of which lack ethical or financial transparency.

Our ultimate goal is to work with you to make your big idea happen through our studio fund. Your written proposal and budget should clearly outline how you plan to achieve your goals.
